Nielsen TV market rankings

Indianapolis remains #27, in between Baltimore and San Diego. South Bend remains #96, in between Jackson, Mississippi and Burlington,Vermont/Plattsburgh, New York. Evansville remains #103, in between Myrtle Beach/Florence, South Carolina and Johnstown/Altoona/State College, Pennsylvania. Fort Wayne moves up 1, from #111 to #110, now in between Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Augusta, Georgia/Aiken, South Carolina. Terre Haute remains #155, in between Panama City, Florida and Bangor, Maine. Lafayette remains #187, in between Grand Junction/Montrose, Colorado and Bend, Oregon.

Northeast

Where Are They Now? Former Fort Wayne PD and DJ Billy Elvis now programs WEGE-FM in Lima, Ohio and WDOH-FM in Delphos, Ohio.

Northwest

Educational Media Foundation closes on their $300,000 purchase of Religious/WFRW (88.9fm, Battle Ground) from Christian Radio Friends. At present, both WFRW and sister station WKHL (106.7fm, West Lafayette) air the K-Love contemporary Christian music format. If you're into call letters, please note that EMF reserved new call letters (WLXJ) for what's now WFRW. Exclusive broker on this deal was Greg Guy of Patrick Communications.

Friends of Christian Radio will sell two different translator CPs for $100,000 to Dallas, Texas-based Elohim Group. The two translators are W232CK (94.3fm, Gary) and W272CZ (102.3fm, Sheridan).

Eastcentral

South Madison Community School's CHR/WEEM (91.7fm, Pendleton) GM Jered Petrey exits after eight years. Mr. Petrey began at WEEM as assistant GM in September 2004, earning the promotion to GM in July 2008. Earlier this year, "91.7 WEEM" won the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System "High School Radio Station of the Year."

Central

Tribune Broadcasting's CBS affiliate WTTV-TV (Channel 4, Bloomington)/WTTK-TV (Channel 29, Kokomo) and FOX affiliate WXIN-TV (Channel 59, Indianapolis) welcome new VP/GM James Aitken. Mr. Aitken previously worked for Tribune in Dallas, Texas as VP/GM of KDAF-TV. Mr. Aitken began his broadcasting career in Indianapolis, as a Pulliam Fellow at The Indianapolis News.

Southcentral

Indiana University's WFIU-HD2 (103.7fm, Bloomington) adds an FM translator: W270BH (101.9fm, Bloomington). For now, the translator has a single bay antenna on the WFIU-FM/WTIU-TV tower on the southeast side of Bloomington. Soon, they will mount a three bay antenna. WFIU-HD2 airs an automated classical music format, from Chicago's WFMT-FM.
