Northeast

Alternative/WEJE (96.3fm, Churubusco) drops Mancow Muller, syndicated from WRCX in Chicago, Illinois. Station officials cite low ratings and a lack of advertising support. J.J. Fabini, WEJE's local producer for the Muller show, is now doing mornings.

At Kovas Communications, GM Palmer Pyle and OM Dave Lang exit. Kovas is comprised of Sports/WGL(AM) & FM, WGLL(AM), WYSR, and the aforementioned WEJE.

Newsman Bill Rice has departed WBNI (89.1fm, Fort Wayne).

Northcentral

Rick Shaw, GM at WIOU & WZWZ (1350am, 92.5fm, both Kokomo) departs for the GM job at WLRO, WLTO, and WXZZ in Lexington, Kentucky. Shaw, a 3 year veteran of WIOU & WZWZ, began his radio career at the age of 19, as a DJ at WCMI in Ashland, Kentucky. The Kokomo Tribune reports that Allan James, OM, and Steve LaMar, GSM, will handle Shaw's duties while a replacement is found.

Northwest

Valparaiso University's WVUR (95.1fm, Valparaiso) has returned to the airwaves after being shut down last month by the schools' administration for airing inappropriate comments.

Westcentral

Bob Swanson is the new GM at CHR/WMGI (100.7fm, Terre Haute). Swanson was formerly PD at WMGI when it was Hot AC as "Magic 101". Swanson replaces GM Paula Phillips. Her husband, GSM Marv Phillips also left. No replacement named for Mr. Phillips, yet.

Southcentral

Kudos to Dean Spencer, owner of Country/WBIW (1340am, Bedford) who was elected to the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce.

Southwest

Country/WYNG (105.3fm, Evansville) moves its tower and jacks up the power :-)

That's it for this issue! See you in two weeks...
