Indiana Broadcast Pioneer and Indiana Broadcasters Hall of Fame member Robert Petranoff passed away January 11, at age 91. After graduating from Indiana University, Mr. Petranoff began his broadcasting career at a Freeport, Illinois radio station. Bloomington then brought Mr. Petranoff back, where he became Program Manager of Sarkes Tarzia's WTTS and WTTV. In 1957, Mr. Petranoff joined IU's Radio and Television Department, teaching production and station management. Mr. Petranoff was part of the group (Bill Brown, Roland Johnson and Steve Shine) that put WBWB-FM on the air.

Meteorologist Brad Maushart joins the weather team for Wednesday through Sunday evenings at Media General's CW affiliate WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis). Mr. Maushart last worked as a fill-in meteorologist at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Friends of Christian Radio sells their CP to W267BU (101.3fm, Fishers) to LeSEA Broadcasting for $2000.

Where Are They Now? Former WJJK morning host Bruce Elscott joins for mornings at KBAY in San Jose, California (as Bruce Scott).

Southcentral

Mid-America Radio Group applies to the FCC to move the tower site of WLZT (94.1fm, Worthington) to their WDCK (101.1fm, Bloomfield) tower. From there, WLZT would have 6000 watts and cover Bloomington.

Southwest

Bayou City Broadcasting's CBS and FOX affiliates WEVV-TV (CBS on 44.1, FOX on 44.2) welcome Derek Smith as Sports Director. Mr. Smith arrives from Joplin, Missouri, where he worked for KODE-TV (weekend anchor/weekday reporter).

This morning, Nexstar ABC affiliate WEHT-TV (Channel 25, Evansville) welcomes Jake Boswell to the early morning show, alongside Alexandra Johnson, Ron Rhodes and Joe Bird. Mr. Boswell last worked at WBKO-TV in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Earlier in his career, Mr. Boswell interned at WTVW (Channel 7, Evansville).
