Station History

91.3fm signed on in 1950. WWHI studios were located at Muncie's Southside High School, 1601 E. 26th Street, Muncie, IN 47302-5897 (Telephone: 765.747.5339). In 1995, WWHI became "WCRD." The former WCRD was a carrier current radio station on 540am. WWHI changed format from Variety to AAA in June 2003. In December 2003, Muncie Community Schools sold WWHI for $1.00 to Ball State University. In 2005, WWHI installed a new antenna and transmitter. On August 17, 2007, WCRD begins broadcasting from its new home in The David Letterman Communication and Media Building on the Ball State University campus. On October 10, 2010, WWHI changes format from Variety to a mix of Pop CHR and College Rock. WWHI still brands as "WCRD".
