1230am (then on 1460am) signed on in 1951, as a 500 watt daytimer.

WSTR(AM)

Owned by Southern Michigan Broadcasters. Later owned by WSTR, Inc. WSTR moved from 1460am to 1230am in the mid 1950s. On January 1, 1960, Water Wonderland Broadcasting Co. acquired both WSTR(AM) and WSTR-FM. WSTR upgraded to 1000 watts - Day, 250 watts - Night. Telephone Number: 616.651.2383. WSTR(AM) aired a MOR format. WSTR was a RKO 2 affiliate. WSTR(AM) became WMSH(AM) in 1989 or 1990.

WMSH(AM)

In January 1989, Water Wonderland Broadcasting Co. sold WSTR(AM)/WSTR-FM to Forum Communications, Inc. for $370,000. WMSH aired an adult contemporary format. Owned by Lake Cities Broadcasting Corp. with studios located at 70808 S. Nottawa Road, Sturgis, MI 49091-9757 (Telephone: 269.651.2383). Aired an oldies music format.
