Indiana RadioWatch: December 22, 2001

Many thanks to all who submitted corrections to our radio station/company database. All have been put into the system and are reflected on the website! Thanks for keeping the archive as accurate as possible!

For the first time in awhile, there's something new on the website, but you won't find it linked anywhere. Every week, we'll put something new up that's in our "prize closet" (it's our archive at IRW central that consists of photos, scans of things we've seen, audio files, etc.) Bookmark: http://www.well.com/~irw/bonus/bonus.html

A special note: Due to limited disk space, no bonuses will be kept online after their featured week.

While we have a small selection to choose from, we certainly welcome your submissions. We welcome picture files (example: .bmp, .gif, .jpg) or audio files (example: .mp3, .au, .wav) - send all to irw@well.com - Also, PLEASE indicate if you would like to be publically acknowledged for the contribution.

This week's bonus is an ID from WOWO (1190am, Fort Wayne) from the early 1990's. Voiced by Chris Roberts, accompanied by a JAM Jingle, it leads into a local newscast, anchored by Van Rockefeller.

Now, onto the news of the week...

Northeast

Standards/WSHI (106.3fm, Columbia City) flips to all Christmas music through Christmas day at midnight. Reason being...the Westwood One standards format it uses has gone all-Christmas.

Religious/WFCV (1090am, Fort Wayne) files an application with the FCC to raise day power to 2500 watts, remaining at 1000 watts during critical hours, all from their current transmitter site.

Central

Country/WGRL (98.9fm, Noblesville) flips to all Christmas, as "93.9 The Christmas Channel." If you're not in the Indy area, listen to them online at http://www.mychristmaschannel.com

Westcentral

APD/MD Stacy "Rocky" Brier, exits CVL Broadcasting's CHR/WVXI (106.3fm), Hot AC/WIMC (103.9fm), and Oldies/WCVL (1550am, all Crawfordsville).

Southcentral

AAA/WTTS (92.3fm, Bloomington) welcomes Paul Mendenhall to mornings. Also, Brad Holtz shifts to afternoons, while Ian Shane flips from weekends to nights. Also, Brooke Butler and Natalie Edwards join for weekends.

That's it for this issue. See you in a week!
