Indiana RadioWatch: November 13, 2017
Where Are They Now? Former WSJV-TV Senior EP Allison Gibson will become News Director at KWWL-TV in Waterloo, Iowa. Ms. Gibson begins there December 4.
Kaspar Broadcasting's Full Service/WILO (1570am, Frankfort), also heard on translator W245CO (96.9fm, Frankfort) went off the air last Sunday, due to a lightning strike. Both WILO and their 250 watt FM translator returned to the air within 24 hours.
Frank Rush exits as PD of Midwest Communications' N-T/WIBQ (1230am, Terre Haute also heard on translator W260BZ (97.9fm, Terre Haute) and WBOW(AM) (1440am, Paris, Illinois). Mr. Rush produced local news content for all of Midwest's Terre Haute radio stations. Dave Taylor at the Terre Haute Tribune-Star says that Midwest Communications now produces Terre Haute local newscasts out of the newsroom at sister AC/WIKY (104.1fm, Evansville). In Terre Haute, Midwest also works with Nexstar NBC affiliate WTWO-TV (Channel 2, Terre Haute) and Mission Broadcasting ABC affiliate WAWV (Channel 38, Terre Haute), although WTWO/WAWV GM Tim Sturgess tells Mr. Taylor that there's "no formal partnership in place."
That's all for this issue. Thank you for your continued support.
