Northeast

Brian Michel, PD at Rhythmic/WCKZ (102.3fm, Auburn) rises to VP/Programming for Kovas Communications stations WCKZ and Alternative/WEJE (96.3fm, Churubusco). Michel also is off-air now, having done afternoons at WCKZ "Z-102.3"

Also at WCKZ, morning man Phlash Phelps departs for XM Satellite Radio in Washington, DC. Phelps' co-hosts, Trip and Courtney will handle mornings.

Sports/WONO (1380am, Fort Wayne) drops One-on-One Sports in favor of ESPN Radio. They're now known as "ESPN Radio 1380"

Woody Woods vacates nights (which he co-hosted with Randy Alomar) at Urban/WJFX (107.9fm, New Haven).

Where are they now? Former Rock/WBYR (98.9fm, Van Wert, Ohio) GM Joe Conway is now VP/GM at KFYI & KGME in Phoenix, Arizona.

Northcentral

Congrats to Casey Daniels, PD at CHR/WNDV (92.9fm, 1490am; both South Bend) on her promotion to Operations Manager.

Country/WKVI (1520am, 99.3fm; both Knox) flips format to AC. WKVI had been a country station for the last 17 years. Their AC format is off satellite from Westwood One.

WSBT-DT has amended their CP to change antenna and increase ERP from 280 to 400 kW. Their DTV transmissions will be on Channel 30.

Northwest

Purdue University's WBAA(AM) (920am, West Lafayette) rolls out a new lineup, including "Car Talk," "World Cafe," "Marketplace," "Mountain Stage," "Latino USA," and "This American Life." Airtimes for these shows are as follows:

Car Talk - 11am Saturday's & 2pm Sunday's
World Cafe - 8pm Weeknights
Marketplace - 6:30pm Weekdays
Mountain Stage - 11am Sunday's
Latino USA - 8pm Sunday's
This American Life - 2pm Sunday's

Central

Beau Asner arrives for mornings alongside Gonzo Greg at Alternative/WRZX (103.3fm, Indianapolis)

Kari Johll is promoted to Programming and Promotions Coordinator at CHR/WZPL (99.5fm, Greenfield). Johll continues her duties as Assistant Promotions Director. Johll will focus on music research and strategies for WZPL's Internet presence.

Speaking of promotions, Dave Taylor is now the promotions director at Radio One's Indianapolis stations: WBKS, WHHH, and WYJZ. Taylor arrives from Citadel's WILZ, WKQZ, and WYLZ in Saginaw, Michigan.

At Rock/WEDJ (107.1fm, Danville), overnight guy Mel Duncan will be starting a weekly Metal show on Friday night's from 11pm - 1am, starting September 1.

Affiliate changes at the Bob & Tom Show: The guys are dropped at KCLH (Sioux City, Iowa), KRKA (Lafayette, Louisiana), WSFR (107.7fm, Corydon/Louisville, Kentucky), and WWUZ (Bowling Green, Virginia). Insiders tell us a new affiliate will be named soon for Louisville, Kentucky.

Westcentral

Heritage Rock/WZZQ (107.5fm, Terre Haute) flips to Alternative as "107-5 The Edge" under new PD J. Jay King. The flip happened on Tuesday 15 August after non-stop Metallica for an hour. The new lineup:

5am - 10am Monte in the Morning
10am - 2pm Rick Cruze
2pm - 6pm J. Jay King
6pm - 11pm Aaron Green
11pm - 5am Lynn James

Southcentral

A long-standing LMA will soon be ending over Country/WSKT (92.7fm, Spencer). The Vincennes-based Original Company, either itself or the now-defunct Old Northwest Broadcasting, has operated the station under the agreement since the mid-1990's. Some internal changes within the two companies, including the buyout of Old Northwest by Original, prevented a sale from occurring.

Southwest
