Last Friday afternoon, Mother of the Redeemer Radio's Religious/WIAH-LP (103.5fm, Evansville) had their programming taken over by hackers. Profane rap music replaced their Catholic programming. The hackers also took over several other radio stations, translators and low power FMs in other states. If you're in engineering, consider changing your Barix box password (If you're in programming or management, ask your engineer.) If you want to hear the audio, drop me an e-mail.

Al Rent was laid to rest this past Saturday. Hundreds attended his Friday visitation, with long lines forming before the showing began. Among the attendees was Morry Mannies. 30 years ago this June was when Mr. Rent launched “The Rent is Due” campaign that helped begin the WLBC Morning Show which he hosted.

Woof Boom Radio's Hot AC/WLBC-FM (104.1fm, Muncie) adds the syndicated "GMA After Hours" (Lynda Lopez) from 8pm until 1am each weeknight. Brian Casey keeps "WLBCland" updated with local weather, and Simon Hoying covers local news stories from the Woof Boom Radio studios.

Upcoming: The close of several Terre Haute radio sales. That means Emmis Communications will exit the market after nearly two decades. Next Monday (1/30), Emmis/Terre Haute GM James Conner will become the GM of Emmis' Network Indiana: A statewide news, business and sports network. Mr. Conner managed the Terre Haute cluster for over two decades.

That's all for this issue. Thank you for your continued support.
