More Federal Communications Commission decisions from the 2003 translator window means another round of construction permit applications. We'll recap several of those below.

Also, we'll begin a survey of Federal Communication Commission applications for LPFM radio stations.

Northeast

Federated Media's Rock/WBYR (98.9fm, Woodburn) welcomes back "Gasman" (Matt Talluto) as PD, under OM "Stiller." Mr. Talluto takes the PD chair on 6 January 2014. Mr. Talluto worked at "98.9 The Bear" for ten years, as Music Director along with an airshift (through his tenure there, he did mornings, middays and afternoons). Mr. Talluto left "98.9 The Bear" at the end of 2006 for Milwaukee, Wisconsin and afternoons at WHQG.

Let's begin our LPFM survey with 103.7fm, Fremont. That's a proposal from Fremont Community Broadcasters, Inc. As proposed, the LPFM would be from a transmitter site on the southeast side of Fremont, east of IN-927, north of County Road 550 North.

Teen Horizons Christian Outreach wants to build an LPFM on 94.5fm, licensed to North Manchester. As proposed, the LPFM would be on a transmitter southeast of North Manchester on a site bordered by IN-16, IN-13, IN-114 and IN-105.

Northcentral

Continuing our LPFM review, Table Setter Neighborhood Radio, Inc. applies for 94.3fm, licensed to Kokomo. As proposed, the LPFM would be at a transmitter site just east of N. Washington Street, where North Street crosses, on the north side of Kokomo. Up in South Bend, Latino Task Force for Education wants an LPFM on 105.7fm, licensed to South Bend. As proposed, it would broadcast from the former WSBL-LP (93.5fm, South Bend) tower site on West Western Avenue.

Northwest

Friends of Christian Radio, Inc. earns a CP for translator W232CK (94.3fm, Gary). As proposed, it will run 12 watts at 118 feet (Horizontal Only) from a tower on East Thirty Fifth Street in Lake Station, Indiana.

CSN International earns a pair of CPs for translators W244DF (96.7fm, Logansport) and W292EM (106.3fm, Lafayette). As proposed, W244DF will broadcast from a tower on Logansport Road, on the east side of Logansport, while W292EM will broadcast from a pole on Columbia Street, near North Ninth Street in Lafayette.

Where Are They Now? Former WPWX morning host Kendra G. exits WVEE in Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. G. also once worked at WBLK in Buffalo, New York.

Central

After nearly 40 years with LIN Media's CBS affiliate WISH-TV (Channel 8, Indianapolis), Debby Knox signs off as weekday evening anchor. LIN promotes Lori Wilson to succeed Ms. Knox. Brooke Martin replaces Ms. Wilson as 5:30pm and 10pm newscast co-anchor.

Tribune Broadcasting's FOX affiliate WXIN-TV (Channel 59, Indianapolis) welcomes Kristin Kane as morning anchor ("Fox59 Morning News"). Ms. Kane joins WXIN from Central Florida News 13. That's in Orlando, Florida and is the cable 24 hour local news channel.

In February 2014, Jim Denny will be inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame. In 1990, Mr. Denny joined Cumulus' Country/WFMS (95.5fm, Fishers) for morning drive.

Friends of Christian Radio, Inc. earns a pair of central Indiana translator CPs: First, W241BW (96.1fm, Lebanon). As proposed, it will run 19 watts at 299 feet (Horizontal Only) from the same tower as Variety/WITT (91.9fm, Zionsville), west of I-65 in Lebanon. Second, W272CZ (102.3fm, Sheridan). As proposed, it will run 55 watts at 177 feet (Horizontal Only) from a tower just off US-421, west of Sheridan (or northeast of Lebanon).

Eric Eggleton joins Metropolitan Indianapolis Public Broadcasting's N-T/WFYI-FM (90.1fm, Indianapolis) as executive producer for their "Sound Medicine" radio series and becomes WFYI's Health Content Champion. Mr. Eggleton arrives in the capital city from the east coast, where he was content operations director at Montgomery Community Media in Rockville, Maryland.

Central Indiana LPFMs: Enduring Communications, Inc. (106.3fm, Noblesville), from a tower site near Seminary Park in Noblesville.

Where Are They Now (Part 1)? Former Radio One/Indianapolis GM Deon Levingston becomes president of YMF Media, LLC, along with continuing as GM of their WLIB(AM)/WBLS-FM in New York, New York.

Where Are They Now (Part 2)? Former WISH-TV Executive Producer Mike Schram is now the News Director at WEYI-TV in the Flint/Saginaw, Michigan TV market.

Southcentral

Brown County Broadcasters, Inc. earns a CP for W263CH (100.5fm, Martinsville). As filed, it will run 230 watts at 241 feet (Horizontal Only). Mid-America Radio Group also earns a CP for W295BS (106.9fm, Martinsville). As filed, it will run 250 watts at 257 feet (Horizontal Only). Both translators will be on the WCBK-FM tower (which already houses translator W231BT), on the northwest side of Martinsville, near IN-67 and IN-39.

Cromwell Radio Group earns a CP for W227CO (93.3fm, Cannelton). As filed, it will run 250 watts at 346 feet (Horizontal Only). The translator will be on the former WXCM-FM tower, northeast of Cannelton.

Southwest

Raycom Media's NBC affiliate WFIE-TV (Channel 14, Evansville) meteorologist Chad Sewich exits after 14 years on WFIE-TV. Mr. Sewich will move to Palm Springs, California, to work in the family business.

This Week in Indiana Radio History

January 1 - In 1950, 91.9fm, Huntington signs on as WVSH, and it remains WVSH today. Also in 1950, WWNI (97.5fm, Wabash) signs off after about a year. In 1970, what was then 92.7fm, Lafayette (now WKHY) signs on. Also in 1970, WNAP (93.1fm, Indianapolis) began broacdasting in stereo. In 1977, WEVC becomes WUEV (91.5fm, Evansville). In 1996, 94.7fm, New Albany signs on (we believe as WAJE). It's now WFIA-FM. In 2007, WYFX (106.7fm, Mount Vernon) flipped formats from country to sports.

January 2 - In 2013, WXNT (1430am, Indianapolis) flipped formats from talk to sports. In 2002, Jim Allgeier became the GM of then-WFWI and WBYR in Fort Wayne.
